A lot of people have asked me if I am a member of a "cult" - the Mormon cult. As has been shown at MormonCult.org (a site "exposing" the "Mormon Cult") , the basic dictionary definition of a cult is a religious organization. So, yes, I guess we're one. But if you mean some kind of dangerous, violent, suicidal group or have some other frightening definition in mind, then give me a break. "Mormon" is the nick-name for members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and it is a Christian organization based on Jesus Christ. Feel free to say we've got some doctrines wrong or don't believe exactly the same as you do, but that doesn't merit calling us a "cult" to exclude us from the ranks of Christianity. "Mormons vs. Christianity" or "Mormonism versus Christianity" are common theme of "cult-bashers," but they unfair and misleading when they rant in that manner. Check us out and see what we really do in our meetings, how we worship, how we believe, how we are taught to live, and they you'll be a lot more comfortable with having a few Mormons in your midst. No need for stoning us just yet!
